How to Cancel an IPTV Subscription

What cancelling actually stops, what it does not, and how to end billing on a provider that will not answer.

How do you cancel an IPTV subscription?

Contact the provider on the channel you subscribed through and ask to cancel, then stop the payment at its source — cancel the PayPal billing agreement or ask your bank to block the merchant. With Vivimate there is nothing to switch off: plans are prepaid terms that expire on their own, and a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days.

Cancelling and refunding are two different things

Almost every complaint about IPTV billing comes from treating these as one action. They are not.

  • Cancelling stops money leaving your account in future. It does nothing about money that has already left.
  • Refunding returns money already paid, and it is governed by a separate policy with a hard time limit that is usually measured in days, not months.

If you are four months into a 12-month plan and you cancel, you have cancelled nothing — there was no upcoming charge — and you are outside every refund window that exists. Work out which of the two you actually need before you contact anyone, because it changes what you should ask for.

Auto-renewing subscriptions vs prepaid terms

IPTV services split into two billing models, and the cancellation problem only exists in one of them.

Auto-renewing: a card or PayPal agreement is charged every month or year until somebody stops it. This is where people get billed for a service they stopped using in March. If your provider works this way, cancelling is not optional housekeeping — it is the only thing that stops the charges.

Prepaid term: you buy a fixed period, it runs out, and nothing further happens unless you buy again. Vivimate works this way. There is no stored payment method renewing in the background, which is why our refund policy talks about refund windows rather than cancellation notice periods.

Cancelling a Vivimate subscription

  1. Decide whether you want a refund or just an end date. If you are within 7 days of a first purchase, say so — the money-back guarantee applies to a first purchase, once, for any reason.
  2. Message the number you subscribed through. Use the same WhatsApp number so the account can be matched to you without a separate identity check.
  3. Say plainly what you want:“please cancel and do not renew”, or “I am within the 7-day guarantee and would like a refund”.
  4. Keep the message thread. A timestamped request is what any later dispute turns on.

Because plans are prepaid terms, letting a plan simply expire is a complete cancellation. You keep access for the days you paid for, and nothing renews.

When the provider will not respond

This is the situation most people searching for this actually have, and the answer is not to keep messaging. Go to the payment rail, which the provider does not control.

  • PayPal: open Settings → Payments → Automatic payments, find the merchant, and cancel the agreement. This is unilateral. The merchant cannot block it or re-enable it.
  • Card: ask your bank to block future payments to that merchant. Most UK and US banks can do this in-app. If you paid for a service that was never delivered or that stopped working, ask about a chargeback in the same call.
  • Crypto: there is no recall mechanism. This is the practical reason to be careful about paying for a first subscription in crypto with a provider you have not used before.

A chargeback needs evidence. The message where you asked to cancel, the date the service stopped working, and the charge itself are all you need — which is why keeping the thread matters more than the wording you used in it.

Before you cancel over a technical fault

A large share of cancellations are really unresolved buffering or a broken login, and both are usually fixable in minutes. If the service is not working rather than not wanted, it is worth ten minutes on the actual fault first:
